Friday Fictioneers: Salvation

The waves crashed against her, whipping her soul apart. Miranda surrendered and let them take her. Her body resisted. Then she heard someone yelling at her. She saw something – a head? bobbing in and out of the water.

She fought the current and began to swim parallel to the shoreline toward it. It was a Golden Retriever paddling with all it’s might to resist being swept out to sea. Miranda pulled him up and he gratefully licked her face. Together they swam toward the beach.

Miranda fell exhausted on the sand as the dog ran happily in circles around her.

  1. Interesting, for I wonder who really saved who. I could see a pre story and a post salvation story.
